Windows
8 is an interesting operating system, dramatically changing the
navigation we were doing so far with previous Windows. The desktop then
turns into an application within the ecosystem more Windows 8, a risky
idea and can generate more of a headache when used to the new system
interface. In addition, Microsoft has decided to leave aside the
Windows Start button , which has created much controversy. Anyway, the
new interface has some advantages in managing the items of equipment.
We tell you how to manage applications on Windows 8 through the
interface Metro.
The
management of applications through Windows 8 is performed in a simple,
far more than Windows 7 once we have become accustomed. To enter the
menu of any application just go to the main interface of the system and
press the right mouse button outside of the bricks. In the lower right,
the option to view all apps. If we click we will list all available
applications in the system in alphabetical order. On the left of the
screen will be the apps, contacts and bookmarks we have anchored to the
main interface and on the right we will all desktop applications and
system tools organized by groups of applications (for example, all Acer
apps placed under the label of the brand).
It is likely that the number of applications is very large. To search a
particular group of applications just press on the magnifying glass
icon in the lower right corner and then click on the appropriate group.
When handling the applications, we have a number of options that appear
when we press the right mouse button on one of them (if we start an
application, you just have to click the left mouse button). In the
lower part a series of icons appear with the explanation below.
For
apps, the choices that we can find are: "Pin to Start" or "Unpin from
Start" to dock or undock the main inerfaz Access to the system and
"Uninstall" to uninstall. In the case of some preinstalled apps removal
is not possible, as in the case of application store. For desktop
applications, the options increase. Besides the possibility of
anchoring and unpin the application interface and uninstall Metro, we
also have the option to dock or undock the tool bar to start the
desktop ("Pin to Taskbar" or "Unpin from Taskbar"). A through "Open new
window" we activate the program on the desktop and "Run as
administrator" we do with administrator permissions.
Finally,
we have the option to open the folder containing the program with "Open
file location". If this way of managing the program does not convince
you, you can always use the uninstall program manager for desktop
applications. To do this, press the right mouse button when the cursor
is at the bottom left of the screen and then on "Programs and features".
To
carry out this article we have used a laptop Acer Aspire 8951G Ethos ,
one of the most powerful laptops on the market and has an Intel Core
i7-2630QM with four processing cores and a power of 2 GHz per core .
This team also has 16 GB of RAM and a Nvidia GeForce 2 GB of dedicated
memory.
